Actually, ditching the toxic diet culture can often lead to more sustainable and healthy form of self care, reminder that health does not mean a restrictive eating pattern or a number on caloric scale.

Things you can do without a restrictive diet plan:

  •   Practice mindful eating- slow down, savor your meals, listen to your body’s hunger and fullness cue.
  • Instead of punishing yourself in the name of exercise, indulge in joyful body movements, like, dancing, walking in nature or stretching. These forms actually help to reduce stress and improve mood.
  • On average, an adult loses about 2.5-3 liters of water per day to replenish this loss hydration is important yet this is often overlooked. Drinking enough water can boost your energy and enhance your focus.
  • Another thing that is often neglected is a good sleep hygiene. Getting a 7-9 hours of restful sleep is essential to support hormonal health, detox modulation and appetite control.
  • In this fast pacing era, chronic stress is invincible and to be honest, we cannot outrun stress rather manage it with calming practices like meditation, journal, spending more time in nature etc. As stress can impact our eating pattern and hamper overall health.
  • Nutrition wise, add variety and balance rather restriction, including colorful, nourishing foods that also energize you, allow enjoyment and satisfaction can change your life.

Let us appreciate our body for what it does rather than how it looks. Embrace the freedom that comes with choosing self care over self control. True health is not about loosing inches, it is about nurturing your body with kindness, compassion and understanding.
